Canberra Hellenic Dancers 2024 Greece Trip

On the initiative of the Hellenic Club of Canberra and with the support of the General Secretariat of Expatriate Greekism & Public Diplomacy, the children, many of whom are coming to Greece for the first time, had the opportunity to visit important sites of historical & archaeological interest in Mycenas, the Epidaurus, Nafplio and Chania.

Group of smiling tourists in front of the Parthenon at the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, wearing white shirts and sunglasses on a sunny day.

First and foremost, we made it to the top of the Acropolis and visited the beautiful The Acropolis Museum. We learnt about traditional Greek costumes and finished the day off dancing with Antonis Remos.

Day 1.

Group of young women holding hands in a dance class in a room with a wooden floor, mirror, and a world map on the wall.

Our first dancing workshop in Athens! After a full day of dancing we cooled off in the Aegean oceans enjoying the sunshine and fresh European air. We also had the pleasure of meeting Γιαννης Χρυσουλακης, the Secretary General for Greeks abroad and public diplomacy.

Day 2.

A cardboard tray with red and white wavy stripes holding six Greek loukoumades, round deep-fried dough balls, on a wooden table in a restaurant setting.

The dancing continues in Athens with a pit stop for loukoumades.
