Phaestos Disk
Diameter: 0.17 m
Clay disk from the Palace of Phaestos (Crete). It bears, stamped on both sides, symbols of hieroglyphic script in spiral arrangement.
It was made between in the Neo-Palatial period about 1700 and 1600 BC

Spartan Sword (Xiphos)
Length: 0.74 m
This sword was used by the famous Spartan infantry for close combat at battles like at Thermopylae and Plataies.
The Head of the fearsome Medusa is elaborately engraved on the handle of the sword. |
