WORK

The Hellenic Club of Canberra believes in the importance of its people, its most valuable asset. Our people not only determine the continued success of the Club, but also contribute to its image and unique identity.

Administration

The Hellenic Club administrative team has a strong sense of business mixed with experience. Driven by loyalty, the team in administration and management strive to enhance the work ethic and team culture by taking a strong interest in all aspects of Club life.

Bar

The Hellenic Club has three bar areas that can provide a fast paced environment. Get to know our regulars at the Triton Lounge and Sports Bar or mingle with dinner crowds in the Hellenic Trattoria and Bistro bar downstairs and the Ginseng bar upstairs.

Café

The recently opened café is thriving on a culture of coffee loving Canberran’s. Our elite staff have all been trained in the art of making a perfect cup of coffee. The café also serves up sandwiches, cakes and a variety of snacks.

Functions

The Hellenic Club of Canberra is known for its outstanding functions facilities, catering and staff. With up to seven functions rooms to host such events as gala balls, conferences, concerts, board meetings to name a few, the variety of work is endless.

Gaming Lounge and TAB

Our recently refurbished gaming room provides a classy environment in which most popular gaming machines are located. The Lounge provides attendants to cater for our patrons and the TAB located in the Sports Lounge caters for sporting enthusiasts.

Maintenance

Our maintenance team are all fast paced, hands on, with a get in and go attitude. Managing the Club’s day to day maintenance activities and general up keep, the attitudes in this little department are big on getting the job done.

Reception

The face of the Club ensures your first impressions are lasting. Providing information on all of the Club’s facilities and services our Front Desk is more than a welcoming face.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

The Hellenic Club is committed to training, empowering, rewarding, acknowledging and supporting the continued development of highly capable leaders, managers and staff who are committed to the Club and work well together.

In 2006, the Hellenic Club formed a joint partnership with the Canberra Institute of Technology that would ensure all staff complete a Certificate I and II in Hospitality Operations.

PLAY

We work hard together so it’s only natural that we also know how to enjoy each others company on a social level. Whilst we maintain a strong work ethic; we like to make sure the Hellenic Club is an enjoyable place to work!! Regular social activities and functions ensure that too much hard work does not make for a boring relationship.

Hellenic Club staff, Board and management volunteering their time at our Annual Community Christmas Party. It’s a day in the sun where we wind down after a busy year and mingle with the community and their families in a relaxed festive atmosphere.

Operations Manager Jay, Beverage Manager George and Toohey’s representative Mick at the Annual Hellenic Club Charity Golf Day held every year in support of Diabetes ACT.

Our social functions held throughout the year give us an opportunity to relax kick back and pat ourselves on the back for the hard work, loyalty and commitment we pour into the Club. From our themed Christmas parties to our regular dinners and activities days, we never miss a chance for team bonding.

Melbourne Cup Day is a big event on our calendar! Each year the Club holds a Calcutta, a charity fashion parade, sweeps and an atmosphere to match that of the Spring Carnival, Melbourne.

Known for our wide variety of facilities and services including special functions, free live music, not to mention live radio broadcasts and special promotions (such as the launch of the new HSV), the Club is always buzzing whether it be in the Triton Lounge, our Outdoor Entertainment Area or one of our many function rooms.
